HC stays arrest of Kavitha

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday stayed all further proceedings, including arrest the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter, Ms Kavitha.The police had initiated criminal proceedings against Ms Kavitha, the President of Telangana Jana Jagruthi, a cultural outfit of TRS, on her statement for calling upon the TRS activists to prohibit the release of Telugu cinema 'Adurs', in which Jr NTR (grandson of late N.T. Rama Rao) played lead role.

Quit by Jan. 28, KCR tells leaders

The TRS president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Saturday said elected representatives from ward members to MPs who fail to resign by the January 28 deadline will be taught a lesson by the people. “You will know on January 28 who are for Telangana and who are against it. We cannot achieve statehood unless we create a constitutional crisis and force the Centre to carve out separate state,” he said.

Telangana ministers plan to sideline KCR

Telangana ministers are all set to visit New Delhi next week to exert pressure on the UPA government for Telangana state. The ministers do not want the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, and his family take all credit for T state. The ministers want to give an impression that the UPA government has been processing the T issue only because of the Congress.

Prepared to wait for a while on Telangana: TRS

The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), spearheading the campaign for statehood to Telangana region, said Sunday it was prepared to wait for a 'reasonable period' if the central government was sincere about creating a separate state in Andhra Pradesh.
'We are prepared to wait. There is a constitutional procedure and legal formalities have to be completed,' K. Jayashankar, a Telangana ideologue.

Jayashankar represented TRS along with party chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao at the government's talks with eight recognized political parties of Andhra Pradesh Jan 5.

Both Jayashankar and Rao have stayed put in Delhi since the talks in the hope of a government announcement to take forward the process of creating a new state. Rao has not spoken to the media for the past five days.
