Pak Taliban chief Hakimullah dead?

Hakimullah Mehsud, the chief of the Taliban in Pakistan, is reported to have been killed in a drone attack in the country's north Waziristan region. The attack also claimed the lives of 50 Taliban fighters. Missiles fired by the drones targeted a compound in Pasalkot along Pakistan's border with Afghanistan.

Hakimullah had taken over the command of the Tehreek-e-Taliban after the death of its chief Baitullah Mehsud. The outfit is fighting a fierce battle with the Pakistan army in the North West Frontier Province. There has been no official confirmation of Hakimullah's death. He had several times earlier been reported killed but surfaced soon after.
