Fog hits Delhi flights yet again

There seems to be no respite from fog for travellers in Delhi. Flight operations at the IGI airport remained suspended this morning due to dense fog which disrupted the schedules of over 50 domestic and international flights.

There is still no respite from fog in Delhi. It's the fourth consecutive day of dense fog in the capital, making it the longest spell of fog at this time in January. At 8 am on Saturday morning, at least 34 flights have been hit. While six departing domestic flights stand cancelled, 12 departing domestic flights are delayed and 16 International Flights are behind schedule.

Worst fog hits Delhi

This January is witnessing the worst fog of the past seven years, the Met department said on Wednesday. A thick layer of fog descended on the Capital creating trouble for motorists as the visibility dropped drastically. Fog started enveloping the city around 8.30 pm and within two hours, the visibility dropped to less than 20 metres. As air services continued to be hit by fog, the Met department said the last time the Delhi airport had seen such a long spell of fog was in 2003, January.

Fog disrupts flight operation again at IGI

Air operations at the IGI airport were disrupted today due to dense fog, affecting the schedules of over 35 domestic and international flights.
“After a clear day yesterday, IGI airport was blanketed with dense fog leading to cancellations of 11 flights. Twenty-four inbound and outbound flights were rescheduled and two were diverted as the runway visibility dropped to 150 metres late last night,” an airport official said.
