Vijayawada: Vishnavi’s brother escapes

Sai Tejaswi, 14, a Class IX student, escaped even as his sister Vaishnavi was kidnapped on Saturday.
He ran to the Congress leader, Mr Kondapalli Satyam’s house near the BRTS Road and informed him about the attack. By the time Satyam and Tejaswi returned, there was no sign of the kidnappers. Their driver was rushed to a private hospital but he died after an hour.
Police cordoned off the area and the CLUES team recovered the steel knife used by the assailants.
Mr Prabhakar told this newspaper that he had no enemies and appealed to the kidnappers to release his innocent daughter.
Police traced the Tavera vehicle bearing number AP O3 R 2223 to Seethanagaram in Tadepalli mandal of Guntur. Four persons have been taken into custody from the area for questioning.
The police commissioner, Mr K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, said the cops would arrest the culprits soon and set free the girl.
