The MLAs along with party MPs from the region reached the Congress Legislature Party office at 11 am where the CWC member and Rajya Sabha member, Dr K. Keshava Rao, addressed them before taking a break to meet at 4 pm.
The MLAs, MPs and ministers from the region gathered for a meeting from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Since there was no word from the party leaders on withdrawing their resignation, the Speaker, Mr N. Kirankumar Reddy, went on to announce that the resignations were invalid.
The Speaker had clearly told them that they must withdraw their resignations before 5 pm.
The Congress high command had ordered them to withdraw their resignation by Saturday evening in order to save its face. Though for the record all the MLAs who submitted resignations a month ago announced on Saturday morning that they will withdraw them after reviewing the situation in a meeting in evening.
All the Congress MLAs from Telangana had on Friday decided to meet on February 1 to decide on the move to withdraw the resignations.
