TDP Andhra, Seema MLA's to Meet Tomorrow

Jan 18, 2010
Telugu Desam MLAs from Andhra region will decide on their future course of action on Tuesday in the wake of the Joint Action Committee for Telangana setting January 28 as deadline for the UPA government to decide on bifurcation of the state.
Congress leaders who are against the bifurcation will also participate in the meeting, sources said.

TD MLAs who have been actively participating in the United Andhra Pradesh movement fear that the UPA government will decide to form Telangana if public representatives in Andhra region keep mum about their stand.
“We will seek opinions of all public representatives on starting a movement to keep AP united,” said Mr Payyavula Keshav, a TD MLA.
A joint action committee for United Andhra Pradesh with support from all parties is yet to be formed in the Andhra region. This is why TD MLAs are taking initiative to keep up the tempo of United Andhra Pradesh movement.
Congress MLAs Mr Sailajanath, Mr T.G. Venkatesh and Mr J.C. Diwakar Reddy; Telugu Desam MLAs, Mr Payyavula Keshav and Mr Devineni Umamaheswara Rao; and former ministers, Mr Mandali Buddha Prasad of the Congress and Mr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao of the Telugu Desam have been in the forefront for a united state, but are yet to join hands and form a committee like the JAC for Telangana.
“We decided to keep restraint to restore peace, as all political parties had assured the Union government that there won’t be any agitation,” said Mandali Buddha Prasad, convenor of the JAC in Krishna district for united AP.
“Congress leaders will also participate in the meeting to decide on the next step,” he added
