Congress leaders hailing from Telangana have expressed anger at the Telangana joint action committee unilaterally declaring January 28 as deadline for the formation of a separate state. The government chief whip, Mr Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, the Congress MPs, Mr V. Hanumantha Rao, Mr Sarve Satyanarayana and Mr M. Rajaiah, see this as an attempt to topple the Rosaiah government and impose President’s rule in the state.
“When the Congress high command and Union government have initiated the process, how can the JAC fix a deadline?” asked Mr Vikramarka. “JAC cannot function as our high command,” he said.
