Inform your local police if you Going out on vacation?

Jan 18, 2010
In view of the series of burglaries n the city, the police stations in the city and Cyberabad police commissionarates have opened “locked house” register to contain the menace.
Residents going out on a vacation or on any other purpose requiring them to lock their houses for more than a day and night, have to inform the same to the police. They in turn would enter information in the “locked house register” and keep vigil on these houses.

The Malkajgiri ACP, Ms P.V. Padmaja, said, “If they give information like their address, mobile phone number and number of days they would be out, we intensify the patrolling in the particular area. The concentration will be more in the area with many locked houses. The beat constables will check whether the locks are intact.”
As the burglars are adopting new modus operandi and leaving no clues behind, police have come out with tips to the public to prevent the burglaries.
Police asked residents not to keep gold ornaments and cash while leaving the house locked. “Usually in an apartment a single watchman would be guarding both day and night. The watchman who works in the day sleeps at night leaving the apartment vulnerable. So, apartment owners should employ two persons, for day and night separately. They can get their credentials checked with us,” said Ms Padmaja.
Police advised the public to install electronic alarm systems to prevent burglaries. Crime scene investigators say that the burglars are also breaking the central locking system.
