India reached 384/7 at tea

Jan 20, 2010
Laxman batting at 51 as the visitors took their lead against Bangladesh to a comfortable 385 runs.Rubel Hossain took a brilliant catch at mid-off to send Dinesh Karthik packing and give Mahmudullah another wicket.

Yuvraj Singh mistimed his shot to lose his wicket to Shahadat Hossain. Mohammad Ashraful took an easy catch at short cover to give Shahadat his first wicket in the second innings.
Rubel Hossain accounted for the big one in Sachin Tendulkar while India were trying to further strengthen their grip on the match.
A sparkling century from Gautam Gambhir and a maiden half-century from Amit Mishra had put India in command on day four of the first Test against Bangladesh in Chittagong as bad weather continued to play spoilsport and the play was delayed due to fog.
Night-watchman Mishra had frustrated Bangladesh's attack with a gritty display as he helped add 98 for the second wicket with Gambhir, but fell just after reaching his 50.
Gambhir (116) went on to add 45 in quick time for the third wicket with Rahul Dravid as India, 122 for one overnight, reached 259 for four at lunch.
Dravid (24) was the other wicket to fall in the morning session, leaving Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman at the crease.
The overnight pair had quickly wrested the initiative after 45 minutes was again lost due to bad light before the start of play.
Mishra, troubled somewhat by Shakib Al Hasan in the final session yesterday, was far more fluent when the Bangladesh captain continued his spell first up in the morning.
Mishra had nicely rotated the strike by diligently running singles and reached his half-century off 69 deliveries.
He had hit two more boundaries in addition to the four he had struck last evening and had looked to hit another off Mahmudullah immediately after passing the milestone, but only managed to find Tamim Iqbal at mid-off.
Gambhir was dropped by Imrul Kayes at forward short leg on 55 and went on to reach his ninth Test century and his fifth in a row.
He perished while attempting to up the pace, cutting a short and wide delivery from debutant Shafiul Islam to Shariar Nafees at third man. Bangladesh gained another wicket just before the lunch break when Dravid was run out while attempting a sharp single, replays showing the batsman had his bat across the line, but in the air when Shakib broke the stumps at the non-striker's end.
