The BJP has expressed its disappointment over the government's decision to award the Padma Bhushan to NRI hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal and sent a letter to President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh demanding that the award be taken back.

On the occasion of 60th Republic Day, the government has announced the names of Padma award winners.
Padma Bhushan award to Aamir
Actor Aamir Khan, along with the yesteryear actresses Rekha and Zohra Sehgal, have been tipped to be in the Padma awardees list this year. According to home ministry sources, Aamir is likely to get Padma Bhushan, while Rekha and Sehgal may receive Padma Shree.
