The Telecom department has planned to make broadband available to nearly 2.5 lakh villages in the country by 2012, said Gurudas Kamath, Union Minister of State for Information Technology here on Friday. He told presspersons that all the villages in the country will be covered with broad band before the completion of the term by the present Government at the Centre. He said that 3G services have been introduced by Bharath Sanchar Nigam Ltd and MTNL.
