kidnapped Vaishnavi's father questioned

The police commissioner of Vijayawada, Mr K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, questioned the BC leader and liquor baron, Mr Palagani Prabhakar, for three hours to get a breakthrough into the kidnap of his nine-year-old daughter Vaishnavi.

The girl is still in the custody of abductors. The commissioner tried to find out if Mr Palagani Prabhakar had any enemies or disputes related to liquor or real estate business deals which could have led to the kidnapping of the girl.

Vaishnavi was kidnapped by three unidentified assailants while she was going to school from Ayodhya Nagar to Patamata on the newly laid BRTS road on Saturday morning.

The police drew imaginary sketches of the kidnappers with the help of eyewitnesses.

Vaishnavi’s brother Tejaswi and others eyewitnesses gave details of the culprits to the AGS police. Anti-goonda, Crime Control Squad, Law and order police from the city and Guntur district are hunting for the miscreants.

Meanwhile, the state home minister, Ms P. Sabita Indra Reddy, on Sunday appealed to the kidnappers to release Vaishnavi soon.
