The JAC steering committee will meet on Friday to chalk out the agitation programme till then.
“On the request of the Congress, we have postponed the deadline to February 7 to pressurise the Centre to act. The agitations will continue till then,” Prof. Kodandaram said after the meeting.
Earlier, the T-JAC was divided over the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram’s statement announcing the constitution of a committee on Telangana.
While the Congress leaders welcomed the decision, the Telugu Desam, TRS, Praja Rajyam and BJP leaders described it as yet another ploy of the Centre to drag Telangana issue and save Congressmen from JAC deadline for resignations.
