Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani's comment that Mumbai belongs to all Indians has enraged Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray. Thackeray gave Ambani a piece of his mind in the Sena mouthpiece Saamna. The octogenerian Sena chief minced no words telling Ambani to respect Marathi pride. He questioned while everybody says that places like Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai belong to every Indian why doesn't anybody say the same thing about other cities?
He wrote that since Reliance makes most of his money in Mumbai and Maharashtra, Ambani should learn to respect Marathi pride.
Thackeray praised Reliance founder -- the late Dhirubhai Ambani -- saying he had done much for Mumbai and Maharashtra. The Sena chief regretted that Mukesh Ambani was deviating from his father's path.
He said while Mukesh Ambani was welcome to carry on his Mumbai, he should remember that Mumbai belongs only to Marathis.
