The Osmania University officials said they will conduct the semester examinations in January, and asked all students who are participating in the Telangana agitation — and are, therefore, skipping classes — to appear for the examinations from January 19.
OU officials conducted a series of meetings with the students and requested them to continue their protests while appearing for the exams.
The university postponed the exams four times in the last month-and-a-half. Officials said if the exams are postponed further, it will affect the academic year of the students.
The principal of OU Arts college, Prof Sudarshan Rao, said if the agitating students don’t want to appear for the exams this time, they can write them with their next semester exams. Sources from student organisations confirmed that the students have agreed to appear for the exams but will continue their agitation on the campus.
