Lashkar planning aerial attacks?

Jan 22, 2010
The home ministry has issued a terror alert after intelligence inputs that the Lashkar-e-Taiba and other Pakistan-based groups were planning to launch aerial strikes. The ministry has alerted security agencies to monitor aircraft and even smaller means of manned flight as any of these could be used by terrorists to carry out strikes.
Ministry sources said the Lashkar had procured at least 50 paragliding units from Europe as part of its plot. These had been sourced to help monitor India's security apparatus from the skies. The terror warning follows another alert by the ministry on Thursday that the Lashkar, along with Al Qaida, was planning to hijack Air India flights in the Saarc region.
