Jan 26, 2010
The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) has extended its working schedule for this academic year by two weeks and cancelled second evaluation of answer scripts for students from all the colleges.
JNTU-Hyderabad also cancelled all the optional holidays for its employees and asked colleges to conduct special classes on weekends if necessary. JNTU-H has lost about 40 working days due to the ongoing Telangana agitation and has decided to extend the number of working days till May this year. The university that usually conducts its final semester examinations for second, third and final year engineering students in the last week of April, postponed it to second week of May and for first year, the final examinations are postponed to last week of April. The academic year for the MBA and MCA students has been extended until June this time.
“I held a meeting with principals of 400 colleges. We have decided to extend our number of working days by two weeks. The answer scripts of the students this time will be evaluated only once. Students will have to pay Rs 1,000 if they want to get their answer scripts re-evaluated” said Prof. D.N. Reddy, vice-chancellor.
