Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid struck hundreds to power India to a mammoth lead of against Bangladesh at the end of the second day of the second Test at Dhaka. Shahadat Hossain picked up his second wicket of the day when he packed off Harbhajan Singh in the last over of the day. Bangladesh skipper Shakib-al-Hasan snapped up his second wicket to dismiss Murali Vijay when the batsman tried to step on the accelerator. However, India have stretched their lead past 200.


Shakib finally got rid of Sachin Tendulkar, who cracked a polished 143 to virtually bat Bangladesh out of the Test. Rahul Dravid took a nasty blow on his face from a Shahadat Hossain delivery and retired hurt after feeling his jaw for sometime.
Meanwhile, Murali Vijay joined Sachin Tendulkar in the middle. India are firmly in control of the second Test after Tendulkar and Dravid scored hundreds to lead the visitors' reply to Bangladesh's first innings total of 233. While Tendulkar went past his 45th Test hundred, Dravid had notched up his 29th, equalling Don Bradman's tally of tons.
Earlier, Tendulkar and Dravid registered the world record of most 100-plus run partnership by any pair.
The two have now 17 100-plus partnerships, one more than the Australian pair of Mathew Hayden and Ricky Ponting and West Indians Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes, who have 16 such stands. The Indian duo's world record of most number of 100-plus partnership came after the drinks break in the post-lunch session when Tendulkar also reached his 45th Test fifty in his 164th match when he drove past extra cover for a four.
Tendulkar and Dravid's 100-run partnership for the third wicket came from 25.3 overs and included 10 boundaries.
