govt offers security to SRK

Jan 30, 2010
The Maharashtra government on Friday offered police protection to actor Shah Rukh Khan following the Shiv Sena's remarks against him and the tearing up of posters of his film My Name Is Khan.
Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagwe said anyone taking law into their hands would be dealt with sternly.
"Anyone who violates the law would face action. Everybody has to abide by the laws," Bagwe said.
On the outcry in the Sena against Shah Rukh's remarks that Pakistani players should have been considered by the IPL teams, he said: "Whatever Shah Rukh said are his personal views. I agree with him that politics and sports should not be mixed."
