Dravid in ICU

Jan 25, 2010
Indian batsman Rahul Dravid is unlikely to play the rest of the second Test against Bangladesh as he sustained a jaw fracture.
He was hit by a bouncer from Bangladesh pacer Shahadat Hossain during the second day's play in Mirpur.
Playing on 111, Dravid sustained the injury in the 82nd over. Dravid, who completed his 29th Test century, tried to duck out of the way of a bouncer from Shahadat Hossain, but the ball hit him on the ear guard of the helmet. Dravid walked off the field after the India physio examined him. He was taken to the hospital where he was admitted in the ICU.
The reports then confirmed a fractured jaw. The prolific Karnataka batsman is also doubtful for the South Africa Test series that starts February 6 in Nagpur.
Apart from Dravid, India have other injury worries too. Yuvraj Singh is suffering from a minor hand injury, and it was perhaps the reason why he didn't come to bat at his normal position today. Skipper MS Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh too had missed the first Test due to back spasm and stiff neck respectively. VVS Laxman and pacer S Sreesanth are already out of the series.
