Bangladesh 136/5 at lunch

Jan 21, 2010
Bangladesh lost their fifth wicket in Tamim Iqbal as Virender Sehwag sent him packing just moments after the opener completed his half-century. The hosts reached 136/5 at lunch. Just before the lunch break, Sehwag lured Tamim into playing a bad shot and Dravid made no mistake at slip to send him back to the pavillion.

The hosts lost two of their wickets, Mohammad Ashraful and Raquibul Hasan, to Ishant Sharma after they resumed their innings from 67/2. Ishant took his second wicket of the day by packing off Raquibul.Rahul Dravid proved to be safe hands as he took a diving catch at second slip off Ishant to dismiss Ashraful and strike the hosts the first blow of the day.
The start of the fifth day's play of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at Chittagong was also delayed due to bad weather.
Meanwhile, a fifth consecutive century from Gautam Gambhir had left India in the driving seat on the fourth day.Opener Gambhir hit a sparkling 116 and was well supported by a maiden half-century effort from Amit Mishra (50), while VVS Laxman hit an undefeated 69 as India declared their second innings closed at 413 for eight.
Bangladesh then lost opener Imrul Kayes and one-drop batsman Shariar Nafees early in their pursuit of a daunting target of 415, ending the day on 67 for two, still needing 348 for an improbable win.Tamim Iqbal was batting on 23 and with him was Mohammad Ashraful on 16 when play ended early due to fading light.
